Job Summary
We seek an experienced and detail-oriented HVAC Hospitals/OSHPD Assistant Project Manager to support delivering advanced HVAC systems in the regulated environments of hospitals and OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development). Based in San Jose, this role offers the opportunity to work on impactful healthcare projects, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and reliability in mechanical construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan, organize, and oversee HVAC construction projects for hospital environments, maintaining strict adherence to OSHPD standards.
- Ensure all installations meet healthcare facility codes, safety requirements, and OSHPD regulations, driving projects toward successful inspections and approvals.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and timelines, ensuring cost efficiency and on-time delivery of complex mechanical systems.
- Contribute to design reviews and system installations using tools like Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy and high-quality outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and healthcare representatives, facilitating smooth project progress and clear communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- At least 3 years in commercial mechanical construction, directly involved in healthcare projects and OSHPD-regulated environments.
- Proficient in Bluebeam, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Project. Familiarity with building automation systems like Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara, or Schneider Electric is advantageous.
- Strong expertise in HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and hospital-grade plumbing and piping systems.
- Demonstrates a stable and local work history within the San Jose area or nearby regions.
